Vocation Weekend Fall 07

Every year, the Province of St. Joseph hosts two vocation weekends for men interested in our Order, one in October and another in February. The vocation weekend is an opportunity for a deeper discernment into our way of life. In addition to time for prayer and adoration, a number of talks are scheduled so that they may learn more about what religious life is and how it is lived out in the Dominican Order in our Province of St. Joseph. This year, more than twenty men participated in the Fall vocations weekend. Please pray for them, and for all those who are discerning a call to the priesthood or to religious life.

Vocations Prayer to Bl. Jordan of Saxony, OP, patron saint of Dominican vocations:

Bl. Jordan of SaxonyBlessed Jordan of Saxony, worthy successor of Saint Dominic, in the early days of the Order, your example and zeal prompted many men and women to follow Christ in the white habit of Our Holy Father. As patron of Dominican vocations, continue to stimulate talented and devoted men and women to consecrate their lives to God. Through your intercession, lead to the Order of Preachers generous and sacrificing persons, willing to give themselves fervently to the apostolate of Truth. Help them to prepare themselves to be worthy of the grace of a Dominican vocation. Inspire their hearts to become learned of God, that with firm determination they might aspire to be ‘champions of the Faith and true lights of the world’. Amen.
