December 6th, 2007 by Br. Pius, OP
The President of the Pontifical Faculty of the Immaculate Conception at the Domincan House of Studies, Very Rev. Steven C. Boguslawski, OP, has just published a new book entitled Thomas Aquinas on the Jews: Insights into his Commentary on Romans 9-11. It is now available from Paulist Press. The Paulist Press website describes the book this way:
The author maintains that Thomas Aquinas in his Commentary on Romans uses predestination and election as hermeneutical keys to understand Romans 9-11 and to sustain a positive theological view of the Jewish people.
Fr. Boguslawksi has been a member of the Order of Preachers since 1981, and was ordained a priest in 1987. He holds multiple degrees, including a PhD in new testament studies and theology from Yale University. First as its dean of studies from 2001, Fr. Boguslawski was named the rector/president of Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit, MI in 2003. He also served at the Pontifical Faculty of the Immaculate Conception in the offices of vice president and academic dean as well as provincial regent of studies. In addition to his duties for the Pontifical Faculty of the Immaculate Conception, Fr. Boguslawksi is currently the executive director of the Pope John Paul II Cultural Center. He is the author of several books focusing upon Jewish-Catholic relations in the writings of St. Thomas Aquinas, as well as co-editor of two books in the new evangelization urged by Pope John Paul II.
