As a part of their photography project, the Cincinnati Catholic Telegraph (the newspaper of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati) recently published the following old photo and caption:

1961: “New priory of the Dominican Fathers at St. Gertrude’s Church, Madeira, will be dedicated by Archbishop Alter Nov. 7. The $500,000 building, which will accommodate 20 priests, was erected by the Dominican Province of St. Joseph, whose headquarters is in New York. The Archbishop will officiate at a Pontifical Low Mass at 11 a.m. on the dedication day. Pastor of St. Gertrude’s is Father James G. Joyce, O.P. Priory’s main entrance is on Shawnee Run Road near Miami Road.” (The Catholic Telegraph-Register, November 3, 1961)
