Pilgrimage to Lourdes

Recently, Frs. Pius Pietrzyk, OP, and Michael Dosch, OP, led a youth pilgrimage to the great Marian Shrine of Lourdes in France. This was a part of the 2009 U.S. Rosary Pilgrimage. The Pilgrimage included not only Lourdes, but holy sites in Paris, Nevers, and Lisieux. While in Lourdes, they met up with three of our brothers studying French with the friars of the Toulouse Dominican Province in Southern France. Below, the brothers take part in the nightly Rosary Procession at the Basilica. In one of Our Lady’s appearances to Bernadette, she instructed that a church be built on the site and that the priests lead the people in processions. Those processions continue as they have for the past 150 years.
