God’s Blessings in Ireland

Irish Dominican Novices

This year, the Irish Province of Dominicans was graced with the largest class of entering novices they have had in more than 20 years.  On the feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, thirteen young Irishmen began their notvitate year at St. Mary’s Priory in Popes Quay.  Additional pictures can be found at the Irish Dominican Vocations Blog.  Our Province of St. Joseph has had a long relationship with the Irish Dominicans, going back to the famous preaching tour of Fr. Thomas Burke, O.P., in the 1870s, and continuing recently with Dominican Fr. John Harris, O.P., who taught preaching at our Dominican House of Studies two years ago.  May the prayers of St. Dominic and all the Irish Dominican Martyrs continue to grace the Friars Preachers in Ireland with vocations, and may they persevere in the life they have been called to.
